Published: 22 Nov 2016Title: NOTICE: WATER CONSERVATION MEASURESStatus: NOTICE: WATER CONSERVATION MEASURES Weens die lae reënval in die opvangsgebied gedurende 2016 is die afgekondigde waterbesparingsmaatreëls wat deur die Raad ingestel was steeds van krag. Inwoners word herinner dat die volgende beperkende maatreëls steeds geld: • Die gebruik van drinkwater om tuine, sportvelde en parke nat te maak word daagliks verbied vanaf 10:00 tot 17:00. • Die gebruik van tuinslange wat direk of indirek aan die Raad se hoofwaterleiding gekoppel is vir die afwas of afspuit van geboue, strukture, paaie, sypaadjies en geplaveide areas, word verbied. • Tuinslange wat gebruik word vir die was van voertuie moet van ‘n outomatiese selfsluitmeganisme voorsien word. • ‘n Boete van R100.00 per oortreding sal betaalbaar wees deur persone wat betrap word dat hulle bogenoemde besparingsmaatreëls oortree. Daar word staat gemaak op die samewerking van alle waterverbruikers in hierdie krisis-situasie. ADV HANLIE LINDE MUNISIPALE BESTUURDER Due to the low rainfall in the catchment areas during the rainfall season of 2016, the existing water saving mechanisms that were implemented by Council are still effective: Notice is hereby given that the following water restrictions are still in place. • The use of potable water to irrigate gardens, sports fields and parks are strictly prohibited daily between 10:00 and 17:00. • The use of hose pipes connected directly or indirectly to, or derived from Council’s potable water mains for the purpose of washing or rinsing buildings, structures, roads, pavements and paved areas, is prohibited. • A hose pipe used for washing vehicles must be fitted with an automatic self-closing device. • Should anyone contravene these restrictions, fines of R100.00 will be imposed per offence. Town Planning and Development

Overview

In terms of the Spatial Planning Land Use Management Act 2014 this department is tasked with all aspects of Spatial Planning as well as Land Use Management.

For planning purposes Bergrivier Municipality is split into a west and east region.

The Western region includes Velddrif, Laaiplek, Dwarskersbos, Aurora, Redelinghuys and surrounding Farms.
