You, our ratepayers and clients, are our first priority. Excellent service delivery, poverty alleviation, social integration, economic growth and skills development are only some of Bergrivier Municipality’s goals.

Because we’re no ordinary municipality, we aim to realise these goals according to stringent standards – our Client Services Charter holds us accountable.

As indicated in the Charter, however, you too have an obligation to fulfil your responsibilities as a Bergrivier community member. Listed below is vital information to streamline this process for you.

Paying your accounts

Your monthly account including your water and electricity consumption, property rates, sanitation and refuse removal, will be distributed before the 10th day of each month and is payable on the indicated date via any of the following channels:

  • At any municipal office in the Bergrivier municipal area by cash or cheque.
  • Electronic payment.
  • Internet banking: arrange with your bank to add Bergrivier Municipality as a beneficiary.

Apply for services

To apply for any municipal service, please call or visit your nearest Bergrivier municipal office during office hours. Alternatively, e-mail bergmun@telkomsa.net for more information.

Report faults

Report any faults or interruption in service delivery within the Bergrivier municipal area via one of the following channels:

  • E-mail: bergmun@telkomsa.net
  • Telephonically: Contact you nearest municipal office. Click here for a list of full contact details per town.

Building plans

For land use or building plan submissions and enquiries within the Bergrivier area, please telephone 022 913 6000 or your nearest municipal office. Once submitted, you should receive acknowledgement of receipt within 48 hours and completion within 30 working days.
